Where It All Began.
ArtifexNY was born during the pandemic — a time of uncertainty that sparked unstoppable creativity. Our founder, a proud U.S. military veteran, channeled years of discipline and precision into building something meaningful from the ground up: a one-of-a-kind studio where handmade artistry meets live entertainment.
The name Artifex is Latin for “craftsman” or “artist” — and that spirit defines everything we do. From the very first shadow box assembled at the kitchen table to booking DJ sets across the Capital Region, every step has been fueled by a commitment to quality, creativity, and community.

Behind every piece of art, every shadow box, and every DJ set is one person who puts their heart into it. DJ Papa Juan — founder of ArtifexNY — is a U.S. Marine military veteran who transformed his passion for creativity and music into a full-service studio that serves the community he loves.
